To compare the fraction make the denominator same of the both fractions:

Multiply the numerator and denominator of the fraction $\frac{5}{9}$ by $5$.

$\frac{5}{9}=\frac{5\times 5}{9\times 5}=\frac{25}{45}$

Multiply the numerator and denominator of the fraction$\frac{4}{5}$ by $9$

$\frac{4}{5}$$=\frac{4\times 9}{5\times 9}=\frac{36}{45}$

We can see the denominator in both fractions is equal, so the fraction with a greater numerator will be greater.

$\frac{25}{45}<\frac{36}{45}$$\Rightarrow$$\frac{5}{9}<\frac{4}{5}$

Hence $\frac{4}{5}$ is greater than$\frac{5}{9}$.
