Solution

The correct option is A <
You know,
Mean= Sum of the observationsNumber of the observations

For New York, the numbers are 3,2,0,5, and 6

∴ Mean of the values
=3+2+0+5+65 = 165
Converting the fraction into decimal,
you get: 165 = 16×25×2 = 3210 =3.2

Rounding off to the nearest whole number,
3.2 becomes 3.

∴ The mean of average donations from New York can be rounded off to the nearest whole number i.e., 3.

For California, the numbers are 8,9,6,1, and 4

∴ Mean of the values
=8+9+6+1+45 = 285

Converting the fraction into decimal,
we get: 285 = 28×25×2 = 5610 =5.6

Rounding off to the nearest whole number,
5.6 becomes 6.

∴ The mean of average donations from California can be rounded off to the nearest whole number i.e., 6.

You know, 3 < 6

Hence, average donations
from New York < from California
