Complete and balance the following equation.

Na+H2O_____+_____

Open in App
Solution

Balance the equation - Na(s)+H2O(l)2NaOH(aq)+H2(g)

  • To balance the chemical equation elements of each molecule both reactant and product sides should be equal.
  • By trial method using number coefficient is used to balance each atom.

Reactant side Product side

Na = 1 x 2 Na = 1 x 2

H = 2 x 2 H = 2 x 1 + 2 x 1

O = 1 x 2 O = 1 x 2

Therefore balanced equation = 2Na(s)+2H2O(l)2NaOH(aq)+H2(g)
