Solution
(a) Atmospheric Nitrogen Fixation by Lightning:
Lightning converts atmospheric nitrogen into oxides of nitrogen which then combines with rain droplets to fall down as soluble nitrogen compounds.
(b) Biological Nitrogen Fixation by nitrogen fixing bacteria:
Root nodules of the leguminous plants contain the nitrogen fixing bacteria and blue green alga that fix the atmospheric nitrogen into nitrogenous compounds.
(c) Excretion:
Animals excrete their excretory wastes in the form of nitrogenous products like urea, uric acid.
(d) Denitrification:
Denitrifying bacteria turns the nitrogenous compounds present in the soil into gaseous nitrogen to enter the atmosphere.
