Solution

The correct options are
A NaCl(aq)
C NaHCO3(s)
The above represents Solvay's process and is used to obtain soda ash
(Na2CO3).
Step I:
Brine is prepared.
NaCl(s) + H2O(l) NaCl(aq)

Step II:
(a) The brine solution when passed through a tower containing ammonia gas becomes ammoniated brine.
(b) This is further treated with carbon dioxide gas.
NaCl(aq) + H2O(l) + NH3(g) + CO2(g) NH4Cl(aq) + NaHCO3(s)

Step III:
Sodium hydrogen carbonate (NaHCO3) that precipitates out of the solution is subjected to calcination-
2NaHCO3(s) Na2CO3(s) + CO2(g) + H2O(g)
