Action of Hydrochloric acid on oxides: Hydrochloric acid reacts with oxides to form salt and water.

Example: Hydrochloric acid HCl reacts with Calcium oxide CaO ,produces Calcium chloridecaCl2 and water.

CaO(s)+2HCl(g)CaCl2(s)+H2O(l)

So products of the reaction are Calcium chloride and water.
