Fish:

Fish is an aquatic animal. There are various adaptations in fish that help them to survive in water.

Adaptation:

Adaptation is the presence of specific features or habits that help a plant or animal to live in its surrounding.

Reason for adaptation of fish in aquatic habitat:

1. Body shape:
Fishes have streamlined body shapes ie.. boat-shaped structures. This shape is to get the least resistance during swimming.

2. Gills:
Fishes have gills to exchange gasses.

3. Caudal fin:

Shapes come under the median fin which makes their body move forward and it functions as a rudder and helps them to change direction.

4. Scales:
The entire body of fish is covered with scales to protect them from decay in water.
