∙ Respiratory tract is the pathway of atmospheric air from the nostrils to the alveoli.
∙ We breathe in air through our nostrils (1), from there it passes through the nasal cavity (2) to the trachea (3).
∙ From the trachea air passes into the bronchus (4) which is the passageway to the lungs.
∙ The bronchus further branches into smaller and smaller passageways known as bronchioles (5) which lead to tiny air sacs called alveoli (6).
