Say:
Let’s observe the number line and complete the steps to solve 25 - 11

Steps:

From 25, take 5 steps backward to reach 20. 25 - 5 = 20.

From 20, take the remaining 6 steps backward to reach 14. 20 - 6 = 14.

In all 11 jumps are taken backward by decomposing 11 into 5 and 6. 25 - 11 = 14.
