We have the folloeing equations
$2 a + b = 15$ eq. 1
$3 a - b = 10$ eq. 2
Adding eq. 1 and _eq. 2
$2 a + 3 a + b - b = 10 + 15$
$5 a + 0 = 25$

$= a = \frac{25}{5} = 5$
