Conductors: 2.5 Marks
Insulators: 2.5 Marks
The material, which conducts electricity, is known as a conductor. In day to day life, we use so many electrical appliances which are made up of conductors. These conductors help us to create an electrical path for the electricity to flow through it. Hence, conductors play an important role in day to day life.
Insulators are those substances which do not conduct electricity. Since direct contact with electrical circuits can be fatal as an electric current can cause fatal burns. So to protect ourselves from electricity, we can use insulators which act as a protecting layer. Insulators are also used in switches which make or break a path for electric current to flow through it. Thus, insulators give protection against electric shock.
