Question

Conisder the ideal amplifier circuits shown in the figure below.

Assuming all the MOS transistor to be idential with Ka=μuCoxW2L and the thershold voltage VTh. If Vout 1=VX1+VTh and Vout 2=VX2+VTh, then the value of Vout 2Vout 1 is equal to ______.
  1. 0.707

Solution

The correct option is A 0.707

For the circuit in figure. 1 the value of output voltage. Vout can be given as Vout=VX1+VTh and VX1=VGS
where ID=Ka(VGSVTh)2
IDKn=VGSVTh
VGS=IDKnVTh
VGS+VTh=IDKn
Vout 1=VX1+VTh=IDKn=IinKn
now, for figure 2, since the two MOS circuit are in parallel thus,

VD2=ID2=Iin2 and Vout 2=ID2Kn=Iin2Kn
now for both transistors
Im=VmR1
Vout2Vout1=12=0.707
