It is the practice of protecting animal species ,wild plants and their habitat , as it plays important role in balancing, and providing the stability to the ecosystem and natural processes like rainfall, regulating the temperature. The main motto of the wild conservation is to protect the nature from getting depleted by urbanization and nature to be around for generations.
Many nations have setup government agencies and NGO's for conserving wildlife. Even non-profit and independent organization have also come up with this idea.
The government of India enacted a law called Wild life (Protection) Act in 1972.
Conservation of International Trade in Endangered Species of Fauna and Flora (CITES) specially works in preventing of global trade of wildlife.
Strategy for conserving wildlife as developed in 1980 by International Union for Conservation of Nature and National Resources (IUCN).
In order for protecting wild life India has come up with projects like 'PROJECT TIGER" which aims at ensuring population of Bengal tigers in their natural habitat it was launched in the year 1973.
PROJECT ELEPHANT - It was started in 1992 for ensuring the conservation of elephants and also it protects elephants against unnatural death.
