Consider 2 mirrors arranged at right angle as shown. A ray is incident at an angle of 30 to the normal of the mirror 1.
What is the angle made by the outgoing ray with the normal of mirror 2? [3 MARKS]

1. The reflected ray will make an angle of 30 with the normal and then hit the second mirror.
2. As the mirrors are inclined at right angle, this ray will make 30 with the mirror (Corresponding angles).
3. So angle made by this ray with the normal of Mirror 2 will be 60 and by the first law of reflection the outgoing ray will make 60 with its normal.
