Given (v)=36×518=10 m/s
At the maxm compression, KE of car gets completely converted into PE of the spring.
Potential energy of spring, PE= kinetic energy of the car, KE

12×1000×10×10=5×104 J=12kx2m

12×10×103x2m=5×104
xm=3.16 m
