The correct option is C 2 L
Let volume of first v and be V container n moles of CO2 initially

Applying ideal gas equation
PV=nRT
5×V=n×R×300
n=5V300 R.....(i)

Let x moles from it is transfered to second vessel.

Applying ideal gas eq in second vessel
PV=nRT
1×3=x×R=300

n=3300 R....(ii)

Now, (nx) moles are left in first vessel and pressure reduced to 3.5 atm

Applying ideal goa eq first vessel again
PV=nRT
3.5×V=(nx)R×300
(5V300R3300 R)=3.5 V300 R from (ii)

V=2 L
