The pressure difference between any two points in case of an accelerating fluid is,
Along horizontal direction :
ΔP=ρaxΔx ...(1)
Similarly, along vertical direction :
ΔP=ρayΔy ...(2)
where pressure will increase in a direction opposite to that of acceleration.


According to question,
For car (accelerating along horizontal)
ax0 and ay=0
From Eq.(1) and (2),
ΔP(horizontal)0 and ΔP(vertical)=0
Similarly for elevator,
ax=0 and ay0
ΔP(horizontal )=0 and ΔP(vertical )0
Hence, in the case of elevator along horizontal direction,
ΔP=0
Or, P1P2=0
P1=P2 at two points in a horizontal plane.
