Urine formation takes place in the kidneys. The nephrons are the basic filtration unit of the kidney. Henle’s loop is a hairpin shape structure in the nephrons. Henle’s loop in association with vasa recta (network of capillaries), plays an important role in the countercurrent mechanism. The vasa recta is highly permeable to water and solutes The exchange of water and solutes between these two structures helps to maintain a concentration gradient in the medullary spaces making urine more concentrated. Therefore, if Henle’s loop is absent from a nephron then the urine formed will be more dilute. Hence, urine formed in nephron B is more dilute.
