Consider the double bar graph given below. Find the average of the number of students present in both classes (Assuming that all the student participate in sports and each student participates exactly in one sport)?

All the student participate in sports and each student participates exactly in one sport. So, there will be no overlapping.
Total number of students in class VII
= Sum of heights of the bars for class VII
= 7 + 16 + 18 + 10 + 14 = 65

Total number of students in classVIII
= Sum of heights of the bars for class VIII
= 6 + 12 + 20 + 7 + 10 = 55

Total number of students in class VII and VIII
= 55 + 65 = 120
[2 Marks]

Required average=Total number of students in both the classesNumber of classes
=1202
=60
[1 Mark]
