Solution

The correct option is D Statements (A) and (B)

Spirulina a form of cyanobacteria is a prime example of SCP. Dried spirulina is an excellent source of vitamin B1 and B2, iron, manganese, carbohydrates and contains around 60% protein.
Methylophilus methylotrophus is an extremely fast producer of protein. To understand exactly how efficiently this bacterium works, think of a cow weighing 250 Kgs. This cow can produce 200 g of protein in a day. Although it takes up 3-10 Kgs of cereal it produces a measly 1 Kg of meat. In contrast, merely 250 g of Methylophilus methylotrophus can produce 25 tons of protein. Considering the above facts the statements A and B are the correct options.
Common button mushrooms are a rich source of vitamin C is not true they are a rich source of Vitamin B.
Golden rice is a variety of rice produced through genetic engineering to biosynthesize beta-carotene, a precursor of vitamin A and not calcium.
