Solution

The correct option is C (a)(ii),b(iii),c(i)
The heating curve shows the following states

(i) AB: Solid ice is heated and the temperature increases until the normal freezing/melting point of zero degrees Celsius is reached

(ii) BC: Heat absorbed for solid to liquid phase change,

(iii) CD: After all of the solid substance has melted into liquid, the temperature of the liquid begins to increase as heat is absorbed. The liquid will begin to boil when enough heat has been absorbed by the liquid that the temperature reaches the boiling point.

(iv) DE: The temperature remains constant until all of the liquid has become gaseous water.

(iv) EF: After all of the liquid has been converted to gas, the temperature will continue to increase as heat as added

So here BC Melting
CD Boiling
DE Vaporization
