Generally, metals are ductile in nature.

Example: Silver, Copper

Brittleness is the inherent property of a material by virtue of which they break down into pieces with help of a hammer.

Generally, non-metals are brittle in nature.
Example: Sulphur, Phosphorus, Carbon
