Solution

The correct option is B 2 only
n(M)=15
n(P)=12
n(C)=11
n(MP)=9
n(MC)=5
n(PC)=4
n(PMC)=3
We can see from the diagram,
Number of students who only took one subject (y)=[ n(M)n(MC)n(MP)+n(MPC) ]+[ n(P)n(MP)n(PC)+n(MPC) ]+[ n(C)n(MC)n(PC)+n(PCM) ]
=[1595+3]+[1294+3]+[1154+3]=4+2+5=11

Number of students who have taken only two subjects
(x)=n(MC)+n(MP)+n(PC)3n(MCP)
=5+9+49=9
No. of students who have taken at least two subjects
(z)=x+n(PCM)=9+3=12

Therefore we see that only statement 2 is correct.
Hence, B is correct.
