Solution

The correct option is D 1,2 and 3
<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}--> The highly polished monolithic Ashokan Pillars were carved out of single pieces of a buff - coloured sandstone. These are surmounted by an abacus and a crowning ornament of majestic animals (four lions, set back to back, at Sarnath). The lion is said to be a symbol of royalty and leadership and may also represent the Buddhist king Ashoka who ordered these columns.

Most of the Persian pillars have a fluted surface while the Mauryan pillars are smooth.
