Saraswati Samman is an annual award given to Indian citizens for outstanding literary work written in any of the languages mentioned in Schedule VIII of the Indian Constitution. The award has been named after Indian goddess of learning Saraswati.

It was established in 1991 by KK Birla Foundation. Dr. Krishna Kumar Birla had started K.K. Birla Foundation to recognize contributions by Authors & Scholars in advancing Education, Literacy & Cultural Traditions of India, during the last 10 years.
