CAG audits the expenditure of the public funds as he is guardian of the public purse. Article 148 provides constitutional framework for CAG. CAG holds office till the age of 65 years or 6 years in office whichever is earlier. The CAG can be removed from office only in the manner and on the grounds that a Judge of the Supreme Court is removed.
