Tubectomy is a surgical method of contraception in females as it involves the cutting and ligation of the fallopian tubes to prevent the released ovum from moving down to reach the uterus. In addition, it also prevents the sperm from reaching up to the female gamete, thus fertilisation is prevented. There are almost no side effects to tubectomy.
