Akhbar’s interreligious interactions and his passion to understand the sacred books and his contact with yogis and Sufis culminated in the promulgation of a new path ‘ tauhid-i-ilahi’ by him. Tauhid-i-ilahi was an order of the Sufi mystic type. It was an order where there were no sacred books or scriptures, no priestly class, no place of worship or rituals and ceremonies except initiation.
