Only Statement 1 is correct


Sound waves require a medium to propagate. On the Moon, there is no atmosphere and hence there is no medium to propagate the vibrations produced. Temperature is not a factor which determines the propagation of sound waves. Thus, Statement 1 is correct and Statement 2 is not correct.
