As follow up to the National Biomass Cook-stove Initiative (NBCI), the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy initiated a new proposal for promoting the development and deployment of Unnat Chulhas (Biomass Cookstoves) in the country during the 12^th Plan Period for a budgetary cost of Rs. 294/- crores appraised and recommended by the Expenditure Finance Committee. Statement (1) is incorrect.

Projects taken up under this are eligible for carbon credits under the CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) with Sardar swaran Singh National Institute of Renewable Energy (SSS-NIRE) that has been designated as coordinating and managing entity (CME).

नेशनल बायोमास कुक-स्टोव इनिशिएटिव (एनबीसीआई) के अनुसार,नवीन और नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा मंत्रालय ने 12 वीं योजना अवधि के दौरान देश में उन्नत चूल्हा (बायोमास कुकस्टोव्स) के विकास और तैनाती को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एक नया प्रस्ताव शुरू किया तथा 294 करोड़ों रुपये की लागत का व्यय वित्त समिति द्वारा मूल्यांकन और अनुशंसा किया है।

सीडीएम (स्वच्छ विकास तंत्र) तंत्र के तहत कार्बन क्रेडिट के लिए पात्र परियोजनाएं सरदार स्वर्ण सिंह नेशनल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ रिन्यूएबल एनर्जी (एसएसएस-एनआईआरई) के साथ तंत्र हैं जिन्हें समन्वय और प्रबंधन इकाई (सीएमई) के रूप में नामित किया गया है।
