The correct option is B Both (ii) and (iv)
Valency is the combining capacity of an element. As element D belongs to group 16 of the Modern periodic table, it has six valence electrons. Thus, it will gain two electrons to complete its octet and show a valency of two.
Element A, which belongs to group 17 and period 2, is the most electronegative element of the Modern periodic table as it needs only one electron to achieve noble gas configuration and is the first member of the group.
Atomic size increases on moving down the group. Thus, element B has greater atomic size than element A.
Element C belongs to group 15 and period 4 of the Modern periodic table. It is a metalloid as it exhibits properties of both metals and non-metals.
Hence, the correct answer is option (b).
