Question

Consider the reaction to 2A + B gives products when constitution of B alone was doubled half life time does not change when concentration of A alone doubled the rate increases by 2 times what are the units of K and what is the order of the reaction?

Solution

When concentration of B was doubled the half life did not change so the reaction is of first order with respect to B. When concentration of A was doubled the rate of reaction is doubled implies that reaction is of first order with respect to A.
So overall order of reaction = 1 + 1 = 2.
So unit of rate constant is L/mol s.
