Consider the situation shown in figure. Both the pulleys and the string are light and all the surfaces are smooth.
(i) Find the acceleration of 1 kg block.
(ii)Find the tension in the string. (g=10m/s2)

Consider the acceleration of mass 1kg be a and the acceleration of mass 2kg be a2

(i)

2×a22T=0a2T=0

Again,
T+(1×a)(1×g)=0a2+ag=03a=2ga=2g3=6.67m/s2
Therefore, the acceleration of 1kg block is 6.67m/s2

(ii)

T=a2=6.672=3.33N

Hence, tension in the string is 3.33N
