Consider the statement: Ratio of breadth and length of a hall is 2 : 5. Complete the following table that shows some possible breadths and lengths of the hall.

Two ratios are called equivalent ratios when their simplest forms (or standard forms) are equal.

Ratio of breadth to length = 2 : 5 = $\frac{2}{5}$

$\frac{10}{25}=\frac{2\times 5}{5\times 5}$

$\therefore$ Other equivalent ratios are = $\frac{2}{5}\times \frac{10}{10}=\frac{20}{50},\frac{2}{5}\times \frac{20}{20}=\frac{40}{100}$

Thus,
