B stable for displacement along x-axis
D unstable for displacement along y-axis
If we displace the test charge slightly along y axis a CD component of electric force will lead to move away and there will not be restoring force to recover so it will be unstable equilibrium. But if we displace it along x axis as shown the force towards equilibrium position will dominent. So it will be stable equilibrium
