Solution

Construction : 3 Marks
Steps of construction : 1 Mark

Steps of construction :

1. Draw a line segment AB of 10 cm.
2. From the end A, draw a circle of radius 4cm and draw a circle of radius 5cm from the end B.
3. Bisect the line segment AB let it be at point M.
4. With M as centre and AM or BM as radius draw a circle.
2. Let this circle intersect the circle with centre B at points P and P'.
3. Let this circle also intersect the circle with centre A at points Q and Q'.
4. Join AP and AP' which will be the tangents to the circle with centre B.
