Solution
We know that, each angle of a rectangle is 90∘ and opposite sides are equal.
Steps of construction:
1. Draw BC=7.2cm.
2. Taking B as the centre, draw a line BX such that ∠B=90∘.
3. Now, with B as the centre and radius 6cm draw an arc to cut BX at A.
4. At A, construct a line AY parallel to BC.
5. Taking A as the centre and radius 7.2cm draw an arc to cut AY at D.
6. Join CD.
Thus, ABCD is the required rectangle.
