Question

Construct a triangle ABC in which AB=8 cm ,BC=6 cm and CA=5cm. Find the incentre.

Open in App
Solution

First we draw a line segment BC=6 cm
With the help of compass, draw a curve from point B of 8 cm
Again draw a curve from point C of 5 cm
These both curves cut each other at a point, name it as A
Join AC and AB
Then, ABC is the required triangle
After that we bisect angles A,B and C
The bisectors of these three angles intersect at a point say O.
Then draw a circle taking O as the centre which touches all three sides f a triangle.
The resultant circle is the required circle and O is the incentre of triangle ABC.
