Construct a triangle ABC in which BC is 6 cm, ∠B is 70∘ and AC - AB = 2. [4 MARKS]
Steps : 1 Mark
Construction : 3 Marks
Steps :
1. Draw line segment BC = 6 cm. Draw ray BX which makes an angle 70∘ with BC.
2. Cut off line segment BD of length AC - AB = 2 cm on BX on the opposite side of BC, Join CD.
NOTE:As point B contains side AB which is smaller than side AC hence we cutoff line segment BD=2cm (which equals AC−AB=2cm) on opposite side of BC
3. Draw the perpendicular bisector of CD. Let the perpendicular bisector intersect ray BX at A.
4. Triangle ABC is the required triangle.
