Construct a triangle PQR in which PQ + PR = 6.5 cm, QR = 5.4 cm and Q = 40°.

Steps of construction:

Step I: Draw line segment QR = 5.4 cm. At point Q, draw an angle of measure 40°, say ÐMQR.

Step II: Cut line segment SQ = 6.5 cm (= PQ + PR) from ray QM.

Step III: Join SR and draw the perpendicular bisector LM of SR.

Step IV: Let it intersect QM at point P. Join PR. ΔPQR is the required triangle.
