Construct a triangle XYZ in which YZ = 4.5 cm, Y = 60° and sum of other two sides is 7.5 cm. (Optional)

The steps given below need to be followed to construct the required triangle

Step I: Draw a line segment YZ of 4.5 cm length. At point Y, draw an angle measuring 60°, say MYZ.

Step II: Cut a line segment ZD of 7.5 cm length (= XY + XZ) from ray MY.

Step III: Join DZ and draw the perpendicular bisector PQ of DZ.

Step IV: Let it intersect MY at point X. Join XZ. ΔXYZ is the required triangle.
