Steps of construction:

Step I: Draw a line segment XY.

Step II: Take a point M on XY and draw MP XY.

Step III: With M as the centre and radius 5 cm (equal to the length of the altitude), draw an arc that cuts MP at A.

Step IV: Mark points B and C on XY such that MAB = = 45° and MAC = = 45°.

ΔABC is the required triangle.
