To construct △DEF where DE=12cm, DF=5cm and ∠EDF = 90⁰, follow the following steps:
Steps of construction:
(a) Draw a line segment DE = 12 cm.
(b) At point D, draw a ray (say, DX) at an angle of 90°.
(c) Taking D as center, draw an arc of radius 5 cm, which cuts DX at the point F.
(d) Join EF.
It is the required right angled triangle i.e. △DEF.
Measure the length of the third side i.e. EF = 13 cm.
