Question

Construct LMNO such that l(LM) = l(LO) = 6 cm, l(ON) = l(NM) = 4.5cm, l(OM) = 7.5 cm.

Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Draw a horizontal line segment LM=6cm
Step 2: From point L draw an arc having radius=6cm
Step 3: From point M, draw another arc having radius=7.5cm such that it intersects with the arc drawn in step 2. The point of intersection of arcs is point o.
Step 4: Join points LO and OM. LO is the side of quadrilateral while OM is the diagonal.
Step 5: Draw an arc having radius =4.5cm from point O.
Step 6: From point M, draw another arc having radius=4.5cm such that it intersects with arc drawn in step 5.
The point of intersection is N.
Step 7: Join points O and N and points M and N. ON and MN are also the sides of quadrilateral LMNO.
