Question

Construct the following quadrilateral: Rhombus BEND.BN=5.6cm,ED=6.5cm

Open in App
Solution

By the properties of the Rhombus, we know that the diagonals of the rhombus are perpendicular bisector of each other.

Let's draw a rough sketch of the rhombus to get an idea of the figure

BN=5.4cmED=6.5cm

Let's construct the rhombusBEND, using the above information -

Step 1: Draw a line segmentED=6.5cm. Take an arc of radius more than half of ED, and draw arc from the points DandE on both sides of the line segment ED which intersect each other at XandY -

Step 2: JoinXY, which intersects line segment ED at pointO. Take an arc of radius 2.8cm and draw arcs from pointO on a line segmentXY, which intersect XY at BandN -

Step 3: Join BE,EN,NDandDB, to the required rhombus -

Hence, BEND IS the required rhombus.
