Solution

The introduction of railways, modern postal and telegraph system in India was entirely due to the British. Industrial ralways were introduced in India from the 1830s and passenger railway from the 1850s. The railways were constructed using British capital and British technology. Even the skilled labour force required for railways came from Britain.

The modern postal and telegraph network in India was also set up by the British. The construction of telegraph lines across the country started from the 1850s. Again, the technology and capital for this enterprise came mostly from Britain.
