As nascent chlorine is the chlorine atom alone without any bonding which is also considered as chlorine- free radical and is represented as[Cl].

So, the hydrochlorine acid can be converted to nascent chlorine by mixing three parts of conc. hydrochloric acid and one part of conc. nitric acid gives nascent chlorine.

The reaction involved in this conversion is:

$3 H C l (c o n c .) + H N O_{3} \to N O C l + 2 H_{2} 0 + 2 [C l]$
