Solution

Dear student,
(1) Given, 3-4
If we take out the H.C.F. of 3 and -4,
we get;
3 = 1 x 3
-4 = -1 x 4
As we can see here, there is one more factor common between 3 and 4 is 1, therefore if we don't have the common factor from numerator and denominator, we get;
3-4 = -34
(2) Given, 44-77
If we take out the H.C.F. of 44 and -77, we get;
44 = 1 x 4 x 11
-77 = -1 x 7 x 11
As we can see here, there is one more factor common between 44 and 77 other than 1, which is 11, therefore if we cancel the common factor from numerator and denominator, we get;
44-77 = -47

Regards.
