125

Open in App
Solution

Converting a fraction into a decimal

First, change the given fraction into an equivalent fraction with denominators 10,100,1000,...etc.

We have 125

Multiplying the numerator and denominator by 2 to make the denominator as 10

So, 125=12×25×2=2410

Now, count the number of zeroes in the denominator and put the decimal in the numerator, starting from the extreme right, and move the decimal point to the left equal to the number of zeroes.

So, 2410=2.4

Hence, 125=2.4
