Using lens formula1v-1u=1f110-1-40=1f1f=540=18f=8cmshift produced by glass slab inthe dirrection of incident ray=t×(1-1μ)=3×(1-11.5)=1cmFor the image to form on the screen again now lens should form the image just 1 cm before the screen so after refraction from the slab that by 1cm final image is again formed on the screenimage distance from from lens is 9cmUsing lens formula1v-1u=1f19-1x=181x=19-181x=-172x=-72so object lies 72 cm in front of lensRegards
